Lord’s, the home of cricket for nearly 200 years, is making sporting history again, as the north London ground is staging an international Test match between two overseas teams for the first time since 1912.

Pakistan is taking on Australia, the game considered a “home” fixture for Pakistan, because they are unable to host sports fixtures due to the tense security situation which deters opposition teams from visiting.

“The sad events in Pakistan have made it impossible for sides to get security clearance to tour there,” Giles Clarke, the chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), said in an official statement on Monday.
